About:
AACTFest is around the corner again and Civic anxiously anticipates competing, with plans to bring their production of  Dale Wasserman's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Directed by Yvonne A.K. Johnson, the show is scheduled to run on the Civic's Main Stage from January 9 to January 25, 2009.

After AACTFest 2007, Civic took home six national awards with it's production of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins, directed by Troy Nickerson. In addition to claiming the honor of "Second of Festival Productions", they won: "Best Actor" for Patrick McHenry-Kroetch, "Best Supporting Actress" for Marianne McLaughlin, "Best Supporting Actor" for George Green, "Best Hair and Makeup" and "Best Professional Theatre Recognized by Back Stage Crew".

Civic had previously won the honor of "Best in Nation" for their productions of Lonely Planet in 1999 and Getting Out in 1989, making it the only community theatre in the country to take the title twice.

Theatre-goers interested in seeing Civic's production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest can purchase their tickets as of Monday, December 15, 2008. Donations, directed to the "Festival Fund", are always appreciated and will go towards the travel costs involved in competing.
