AACT New York Convention 2012

The AACT 2012 Annual Convention is being held in New York City from July 12 to July 15. Yvonne A.K. Johnson is the Chair of Strategic Planning and serves as an Endowment Trustee. Jim Humes, Managing Director, is also attending.

The schedule includes commitee meetings on Leadership Development & History, Workshops & Strategic Planning, Endowment & Marketing, Membership & Finance, Festival Commission & Education and International & Advocacy. There will also be a host of workshops and panels, taking advantage of the talent and resources of the Big Apple, along with vendor exhibits. Participants will also have time to explore the city and attend Broadway shows or just take in the sights.

Playwright Ken Ludwig will be the guest of honor at the Convention Celebrity Reception on Thursday afternoon. Even if you don't know his name, you will have heard of his plays, which include Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo, Crazy for You, and Leading Ladies. His appearance is sponsored by Samuel French. Mr Ludwig also wrote Treasure Island, which Civic is producing next season.
